Anoma A1 First Series

In recent years, the watch industry had seen an increased interest in independent brands, and while many new releases draw inspiration from iconic models, the Anoma A1 offers something a little different.
 
Matteo Violet-Vianello, the London-based brand owner and designer, looked to mid-century furniture, architecture and industrial design, in particular a coffee table, when designing the A1, his first timepiece. The result is a watch that feels smooth in the hand, comfortable on the wrist, and intriguing to the eye. 
 
The triangular-shaped case is made from stainless steel and is highly polished to give it a smooth, pebble-like finish. It measures 39mm across and at just 9.45mm thick, sits comfortably on the wrist. 
 
The curved triangles continue on to the dial, where layers of blue lacquer create a rich, two-tone effect which changes with the light. Slender hands and care-fully placed indices keep the dial balanced, despite its asymmetrical design. 
 
The watch is powered by an automatic, Swiss-made Sellita SW100 movement, which is known to be robust and reliable.
 
In keeping with the stylish aesthetic, this A1 is supplied with a selection of three beautiful straps – two Anoma leather straps in grey and sand, and a Delugs grey Ostrich leather strap for an alternative look. 
 
Despite not being a limited release, the first 100 watches were numbered, and are excited that this piece is one of those first watches. Presented in a like-new condition, and supplied with its original box and paperwork, the watch is also covered by an Anoma warranty to January 2027.
 
For the collector who appreciates original design, the A1 stands confidently on its own, while retaining a subtle elegance and easy-to-wear appeal.
