Breguet Marine Big Date

The Breguet Marine 5817 offers an interesting alternative to a luxury sports watch. It combines the brand’s long maritime heritage with traditional watchmaking techniques, and modern-day specifications.
 
The 39mm steel case features elongated lugs, giving it a presence on the wrist, enhanced further by an elegantly fluted case middle. But with a screw-down crown and 100m of water resistance, it also makes for a sturdy and practical watch.
 
The highlight of this piece is the striking guilloché dial. It’s made from solid 18-karat gold, which is then silvered and hand-turned on a rose lather to create the intricate patterns. Blued Breguet hands and applied Roman numerals add to the classic aesthetic, while the large date display at 6 o’clock adds a useful feature without disturbing the balance of the dial. 
 
Through an exhibition case back, you can appreciate Breguet’s calibre 517GG automatic movement, fitted with a decorated rotor and double barrels for an impressive power reserve.
 
In keeping with the sporty feel, the watch is paired with a black rubber strap fitted with a folding steel clasp, however it would also look great on any variety of straps.
 
We are pleased to offer this 2013 watch in excellent condition, supplied with its original box and paperwork. There is no known service history, however the watch has been tested and found to be running well with regards to timekeeping and power reserve.
