Breitling Chronomat B01 Chronograph 44

The Chronomat has been an important part of Breitling’s history since its introduction in 1941, but the modern Chronomat has its roots in the 1980s, when the slide-rule bezel of the original was replaced by the distinctive rider tabs, designed for glove-wearing pilots. This reference AB0115 combines this aviation heritage with Breitling’s modern in-house movement.

The 44mm steel case has a presence on the wrist, while the satin-brushed finish gives the watch a more understated appearance than some of the more polished Chronomat models. Screw-down crown and pushers, along with a solid case back, offer 500m of water resistance and make this watch suitable for any adventure.

The star of the show is the “Blackeye Blue” dial, with its blue sunburst finish subtly catching the light, and black subdials offering contrast and legibility.

Powering the watch is Breitling’s Manufacture Calibre 01, an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement with a vertical clutch and an impressive 70-hour power reserve. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is COSC-certified as a chronometer.

A five-link brushed steel Pilot bracelet is a great pairing for the watch, but we also think it would suit any number of straps.

We are pleased to present this 2019 watch in excellent pre-owned condition. It comes with its original box and paperwork, and details of timekeeping checks carried out by Breitling. The watch has also been tested by ourselves and found to be running well, and as such we are happy to sell it with a 6-month warranty.

The Chronomat B01 Chronograph 44 is a substantial and capable sports chronograph, combining Breitling’s distinctive design with one of its most significant modern manufacture movements.
