Bremont 1918 Rose Gold Limited Edition
With a passion for aviation, Nick and Giles English founded their watch company, Bremont, in 2002 with a focus on making watches for pilots.
The brothers themselves have flown historic aircrafts since they were teenagers and the company has often looked to the nation's engineering, military, and aviation heritage for inspiration. The 1918 collection was created to commemorate the founding of the Royal Air Force in 1918, and this watch celebrates a century of military aviation while showcasing Bremont's distinctive approach to design and engineering.
Produced as a limited edition, the 1918 combines the practicality of a pilot's chronograph with the elegance of an 18ct rose gold case. Measuring 43mm, Bremont's signature three-part "Trip-Tick" construction gives the watch real presence on the wrist, while screw-down crown, and 100 metres of water resistance make it a surprisingly versatile companion for everyday wear.
The black dial is both handsome and highly legible. Applied rose gold numerals and indices contrast beautifully against the dark backdrop, while the chronograph registers are neatly balanced to maintain the clean, instrument-inspired aesthetic. The cathedral-style hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova®, giving a subtle nod to early aviation timepieces without feeling overtly vintage. One of the most charming features is the AM/PM disc which displays a Supermarine Spitfire during the day and an Avro Lancaster during the night.
In true Bremont style, the case back proudly displays a rotor made with parts from not one, but four historically important aircrafts – a Bristol Blenheim, a Supermarine Spitfire, a Hawker Hurricane, and a 1917 SE5a. Underneath, the watch is powered by Bremont's calibre BE-16AE automatic chronograph movement. It’s based on the reliable Valjoux 7750 architecture and then modified and decorated by Bremont.
The watch is fitted with a rich brown Bremont alligator strap secured by an 18ct rose gold pin buckle. Also included is a Bremont NATO strap, offering a more relaxed, military-inspired look.
Originally purchased in March 2018, this example presented in an excellent condition, showing very little signs of wear. It comes supplied with its original presentation box and paperwork, and is covered by our 6-month warranty.
The Bremont 1918 is a compelling combination of British aviation heritage, traditional watchmaking, and everyday usability. Produced in limited numbers, it offers a more understated and distinctive alternative to many precious-metal chronographs, while remaining unmistakably Bremont.
