Chanel J12
Chanel timepieces find themselves in an odd position within the watch industry. Those new to watch collecting might mistakenly label them as “fashion watches”, but for many years, Chanel have continually produced high-quality wristwatches. In more recent years, Chanel have further developed their stake in horology by acquiring Bell & Ross, purchasing a stake in F.P. Journe and also a 20% stake in Kenissi, the movement manufacturer that produces automatic calibres for Tudor and Norqain.
The J12 was launched in 1999, named after the J-class 12-meter racing yachts, and much like the yachts, was designed to be elegant yet sporty.
Chanel were one of the first brands to use ceramic for a watch – a lightweight and scratch-resistant material. Here we have the 38mm white ceramic version, a versatile size, fitted with a sleek white ceramic and steel rotating bezel. A white ceramic bracelet is fitted with a hidden folding clasp so as not to deter from its smooth aesthetic.
The white dial is well proportioned, with black Arabic numerals, hands and a black minute track almost giving it an art-deco feel.
Powering the watch is a Swiss-made ETA 2892 automatic movement, running well having recently undergone a maintenance service. As such, we are pleased to offer a 12-month warranty with the watch.
This 2009 watch comes supplied in an excellent condition with its original presentation box, guarantee card, instruction booklet and repair booklet.
