Girard-Perregaux x Bamford Deep Diver

 
There are few things watch enthusiasts love more than a re-issue of a vintage timepiece. That is, until the brand collaborates with one of the most well-loved watch customisation establishments to create a playful take on a legendary icon.
 
This 2025 Deep Diver is a celebration of the reference 9108 from the early 1970’s. More than a dive watch, it incorporated an innovative Gyromatic system with bold, colourful designs. Furthermore, the watch featured a 14-facet bezel, now a recognised feature of the modern-day Girard-Perregaux Laureato.
 
In this reinterpretation, the polished bezel is framed by a cushion-shaped titanium case, featuring a striking radial brushed finish which extends from the front, over crisp edges onto the side of the case. The two screw-down crowns operate the hands and the rotating internal bezel.
 
The orange dial gives a nod to the collaboration with Bamford Watch Department, while the typography and hands echo the design cues of the original watch.
 
Turning the watch over reveals a playfully decorated case back, with a semi-translucent blue sapphire crystal and the words “WATERPOOL RESISTANT”.
 
Powering the watch is Girard-Perregaux’s in-house calibre GP03300 automatic movement, with exquisite finishing and offering a 46-hour power reserve.
 
This sporty piece comes supplied with both a blue and an orange rubber strap, both fitted with a titanium pin buckle and a quick-release fitting.
 
Perhaps one of my favourite features is the presentation box, designed to resemble a swimming pool. It comes with a striped orange instruction manual, along with a Girard-Perregaux warranty.
 
Having only been worn a handful of times, this special piece is in a like-new condition.
