Grand Seiko 44GS 55th Anniversary ‘Tsuki Tenshin’

Grand Seiko are renowned for drawing design inspiration from Japanese nature, and this 44GS 55th Anniversary Edition does just that. The dial has been created to resemble the moment that a full moon is at its peak in the night sky, casting a light over the Shinshu mountains. The Japanese call this Tsuki Tenshin.
 
The inky blue dial is so dark it almost looks black, but has a subtle starburst finish that catches the light. The time-only display is devoid of any fuss, allowing the wearer to fully appreciate the quiet beauty of the silky smooth seconds hand, powered by Grand Seiko’s phenomenal manual-wind Caliber 9R31 Spring Drive movement.
 
The movement can be appreciated through an expansive sapphire crystal, where a dual spring barrel delivers an impressive 72 hours of power reserve. Furthermore, as not to detract from the dial, the power reserve indicator has been moved from the front to the back of the watch.
 
The 40mm steel case is Zaratsu polished, highlighting the sharp edges and sleek curves. This piece was originally presented on a dark blue alligator strap to echo the rich tones of the dial, but this watch is also supplied with a Grand Seiko steel bracelet for an alternative, sportier aesthetic.
 
We are excited to present this very special watch in an excellent condition, with light wear to the case and bracelet, but the strap being completely unworn. It comes as a full set, including a Grand Seiko warranty to August 2027.
