Grand Seiko Spring Drive "Lake Suwa"

Grand Seiko has long drawn inspiration from the natural landscapes surrounding its studios in Japan. It is the tranquil setting of Lake Suwa that inspired this limited edition Spring Drive. The deep blue a dial features a finely textured pattern designed to evoke the surface of the water moments before dawn. As you might expect from Grand Seiko, the hands and indices are highly polished and finished with excellent precision, and the smooth sweeping seconds hand, along with the applied logo, have a warm gold tone to echo the early morning light reflecting on the lake’s surface.
 
The 40mm steel case is in keeping with the design of the Evolution 9, with faceted lugs, and a mix of brushed and polished finishes. An unobtrusive bezel allows the wearer to fully appreciate that beautiful dial. The watch is paired with a predominantly brushed stainless steel bracelet, giving it a sportier feel, but would also suit any number of straps. 
 
Through an exhibition case back you can appreciate the in-house Spring Drive Calibre 9RA2 automatic movement. Technically impressive, it combines mechanical energy with quartz regulation to deliver remarkable precision of ±10 seconds per month (±0.5 seconds per day). Twin barrels provide a 120-hour (five-day) power reserve, while the power reserve indicator is discreetly positioned on the movement side, allowing the dial to remain clean and balanced. 
 
Presented in excellent pre-owned condition, this 2021 watch comes as a full set, including a Grand Seiko warranty valid until December 2026.
