IWC Pilot’s Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team”

The IWC Pilot’s Chronograph has long been recognised as a reliable, legible and attractive sports chronograph. It’s no surprise then that it was the watch of choice for the 2023 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team. The collaboration started in 2013 when IWC became the Official Engineering Partner to the team and is a relationship that still remains today. 
 
 The watch itself combines the Chronograph’s aviation-inspired design with the materials and colours taken from the world of Formula One.
 
The matt black dial is brought to life with accents of the signature PETRONAS-green on the hands and markers, and even the day and date discs. The result is undeniably PETRONAS yet remains clean and legible.
 
At 41mm the case is a great size, and being made from grade 5 titanium makes it all the more lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. The matt grey finish adds to the watch’s sporty aesthetic, and with a water resistance of 100 meters, it’s suitable on the road, at the circuit or in everyday wear. 
 
Through an exhibition case back, you can appreciate IWC’s automatic calibre 39385. Despite its 231 components and impressive column-wheel chronograph, the movement is durable and reliable and offers a 46-hour power reserve.
 
In keeping with its sporting character, the watch is fitted with a PETRONAS-green rubber strap with IWC’s EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing for quick and simple strap changes without tools. Also supplied is an IWC textile and rubber strap, offering a slightly different look while retaining the same practical quick-change functionality. A titanium pin buckle completes the package.
 
Originally purchased in June 2023, the watch is offered as a full set, including its presentation box, travel case, warranty card, warranty booklet, instruction manual, and EasX-CHANGE® booklet, and is covered by IWC's extended warranty to June 2031.
 
Presented in excellent condition and showing very little signs of wear, this special edition successfully blends IWC’s pilot-watch heritage with the cutting-edge engineering of modern Formula One.
