Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso started life in 1930 following a need for a watch that was sturdy enough for use by polo players. The pivoting case was created, enabling the wearer to flip the watch and protect the crystal.
 
For nearly 100 years, the Reverso has remained a firm favourite with watch collectors, not only a fun concept but as a foundation for a very elegant dress watch. There have been many iterations, but few are as versatile and useful as this Duoface version.
 
Firstly, the polished steel rectangular case is is comfortable, despite its impressive 47mm x 2mm dimensions. Within its reversible mechanism, a single movement powers two independent dials, allowing the wearer to read two time zones. The first (or Recto) dial is a striking blue with a sunray finish which catches the light. The second (or Verso) dial is a light silver colour, decorated with a Clous de Paris Guilloché pattern. A 24-hour sub dial is aligned with the words DAY and NIGHT, giving a nod to the versatility of this GMT watch.
 
That is, a GMT watch with a dressier aesthetic, thanks in part to its polished steel case, which features the iconic three-lined gadroons, or stripes, above and below the dial. The case back is engraved with “1000 hours control” which references JLC’s strict testing program, ensuring that the manual wind calibre 854A movement is operating to the best possible tolerances.
 
Giving a nod to the Reverso’s sporting past, the blue leather strap is made by the Italian bootmaker Casa Fagliano, who has been making boots for polo players for over 100 years. It comes fitted with a JLC steel folding clasp for a clean look.
 
We are pleased to present this beautiful watch in a very good, unpolished condition, with the option to have it polished should you wish. It comes supplied as a full set, including its original box and papers and a JLC extended warranty to April 2029.
