We are pleased to offer for sale this eye-catching Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph, a watch that combines important historical watchmaking with a modern design. 
 
Nicolas Rieussec was a Parisian-based watchmaker who, in the 1820s, created one of the first chronographs, inspired by the need to time horse races. This 2024 limited edition watch pays tribute to those early timepieces, using a distinctive dial layout that sets this watch apart from other chronographs.
 
Rather than using central chronograph hands, elapsed time is displayed via two rotating discs: a 30-minute counter at 4 o’clock and a 60-seconds counter at 8 o’clock, each read against fixed pointers. A sunburst central dial displays the hour and minutes, with a discreet skeletonised hand for a second time zone. A small AM/PM indicator at 9 o’clock is balanced with a matching screw at 3 o’clock helping maintain symmetry, while a date window at 6 o’clock completes the layout. Despite the long list of complications, the dial remains legible with rose-gold coloured hands contrasting against a grey sunburst finish, which itself contrasts against a subtle hobnail backdrop. 
 
The stealthy aesthetic continues with the black DLC-coated steel case. Measuring 43mm in diameter, it has a strong presence on the wrist while remaining comfortable to wear. Gently curved lugs and a domed sapphire crystal add a nod to the watch’s vintage inspiration.
 
Through the exhibition case back, you can appreciate Montblanc’s in-house calibre MB R200 movement. This automatic monopusher chronograph movement features a column wheel, vertical clutch and twin barrels, delivering am impressive 72-hour power reserve. 
 
Presented in excellent, like-new condition, this watch is supplied as a full set, including a Montblanc warranty to October 2026.
