Patek Philippe Calatrava

Patek Philippe Calatrava

£0.00Price

Patek Philippe have been creating timepieces for over 170 years and in 1932 launched the Calatrava. Since then, few other brands have been able to consistently deliver a dress watch as elegant and as iconic.

This reference 2591 was released in 1956 and was in production until 1975. The serial number on this particular watch dates it to 1964-1965.

The slim 34mm case is made from 18ct yellow gold and, unlike many other references, features concealed lugs which give the impression that the watch is floating on the wrist.

A time-only champagne dial remains minimal, adorned only with gold baton indices and hands, and a simple “PATEK PHILIPPE GENÈVE”.

The unassuming dial masks an intricate mechanical movement. The calibre 23-300 is 23mm in diameter, and is considered one of the best hand-wound movements ever produced by Patek Philippe.

As you might expect, the watch is fitted with a beautiful black alligator leather strap, produced by Patek Philippe. The longer length strap is showing some signs of wear, but also supplied with the watch is an unworn, shorter length Patek Philippe alligator strap.

The watch is also supplied with a striking Patek Philippe presentation box, a Certificate of Authenticity from a trusted vintage watch expert, and a six-month warranty.

A classic dress watch is a staple in any watch collection, however as we see a trend for smaller watches, I think that this very special piece could be enjoyed on number of occasions.
