Porsche Design Titan Chronograph Limited Edition

The Porsche Design Studio was founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the gentleman responsible for designing the Porsche 911. Porsche Design created many non-car-related products and in 1973 launched their first wristwatch. It was the first watch to feature an all-black PVD case and bracelet, the monochrome design extending to the dial, with the exception of a red chronograph seconds hand.
 
This 1999 Titan Chronograph shares many similarities with that first watch, including the same dial layout with the chronograph and day-date.
 
However, underneath the PVD coating, the case and bracelet are made from titanium, used in the automotive and aerospace industries for its lightweight yet durable properties.
 
A decorated case back features “Manufactured by Eterna”, the watch brand which Porsche Design acquired in 1995 to build their watches. There are also details of this limited edition (just 1,999 pieces) and the signature of F.A. Porsche.
 
The watch is powered by a Swiss-made Valjoux 7750 automatic movement. Despite having no known service history, this watch is running well and as such, we’re happy to supply it with a 6-month warranty.
 
The case back sticker is still intact, and the condition of the watch would suggest that it has rarely been worn; the bracelet even has all of its links. There are some light marks to the case at 9 o’clock, but overall, the watch is in an extremely good condition. It also comes supplied with its original swing tag.
