Rolex GMT Master II

In 1954 Rolex introduced the first GMT-Master in response to requests from pilots to be able to display multiple time zones simultaneously. An arrow-tipped GMT hand allows the wearer to track a second time zone, and a rotating bezel with a 24-hour insert allows for an additional time zone. Furthermore, two colours on the bezel insert differentiate between day and night.
 
This reference 16710 was first introduced in 1989 and this later “Swiss Made” version features Superluminova, offering high legibility against the matt black dial. 
 
The watch was available with either an all-black bezel insert, a red and black (Coke) insert, or red and blue (Pepsi) insert. We are excited to supply this watch with both a Coke and Pepsi insert and corresponding paperwork from Rolex UK detailing the bezel exchange. 
 
The steel case has a diameter of 40mm, and with a thickness of 12mm is slimmer than both its predecessor and the more modern-day versions. 
Powering the watch is Rolex’s calibre 3185 automatic movement – a robust, reliable and much-loved movement offering a 50-hour power reserve.
 
Fitted to the watch is a steel Oyster bracelet, and this watch also benefits from a “Steel Reef” extension link, allowing the wearer to quickly and easily extend the length of the bracelet by 5mm. 
 
The case and bracelet are in an excellent condition, having been professionally and sympathetically refinished. The original edges are still intact and the watch can be described as being in a like-new condition. 
 
To say that this watch is supplied as a “full set” is an understatement and we are excited to present the watch with the following – Rolex presentation box, attestation certificate, card holder, 2006/2007 calendar card, Chronometer booklet, Oyster booklet, instruction booklet, service booklet with service card from 2018, original sticker, two swing tags, three additional links, Rolex receipt for bezel insert, two pre-owned purchase receipts. Furthermore, the movement has been professionally tested and as such, we are happy to provide the watch with a six-month warranty.
